Registered General Nurse
The Registered General Nurse is an individual who holds acurrent, valid license issued under a national authority or board thatauthorizes them to practice nursing, this means providing care using systematicand ethical approaches to individuals and/or groups requiring specializedknowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the biological, physical,behavioral, social, and/or nursing sciences.
·Directlyreports to the Head Nurse
·Assessespatients physical, psychosocial and/or emotional needs for the purpose ofplanning, delivering and evaluating nursing care. This involves the collectionof data through assessment, which may include interviews, observation andphysical evaluations for the purpose of planning, providing and evaluating theoutcomes of care.
·Identifyingpatterns of human responses to actual or potential health problems amenable tonursing intervention.
·Collaboratewith other health care professionals to form a plan of care based on clinicalinformation and patient observation.
·Executing aplan of nursing care based on comprehensive assessment, selection ofappropriate evidence-based interventions and evaluation of response or outcomes;
·"Nursinginterventions" could include preventative, restorative, palliative and/orhealth promoting activities.
·Helpingpatients with day-to-day activities such as moving, bathing, dressing, eatingand drinking, and grooming
·Updatingpatient’s Doctor about its status/needs and ensure that the orders wereeffectively carried out.
·Administeroral, enteral and injectable medications except for (IV) intravascularinjection, as scheduled and as ordered while monitoring patients for sideeffect.
·Serves as aresource person for knowledge of medication uses, side effects, and dosage.
·ProvideHealth teaching to the patient and family.
·Maintainmedical records and appointments.
·PerformsWound Care/Tracheostomy Care/Colostomy Care/Post-surgical care
·Manages time wisely
·Caring and willing to listen arerequire
·Communication along with accurateobservation
·Have emotional stability
·Sympathetic to their patients' wishesand needs
·Knowledgeable and familiar on thebasic to advanced nursing procedures
·Graduate of Bachelor of Science inNursing
·3 years Nursing Diploma or Associate degree in Nursingrecognized by country of current License for Registered General Nurse (RGN)license
·Minimum of 2 years hospital experience in the same position post registration
·With certificate of completion of recognized CPR course
